District Education Council (DEC)
District Education Councils (DECs) in New Brunswick play a crucial role in shaping the local education landscape by acting as a bridge between schools and communities. The DEC is also the body to which the Superintendent directly reports.
In Anglophone North School District, the DEC empowers parents, students, educators and community members to voice their needs and perspectives, ensuring that educational policies and practices reflect local priorities.
By overseeing the management of resources, supporting curriculum development and facilitating communication among stakeholders, the DEC helps enhance the quality of education and promotes student success across the District.
The DEC’s local focus supports tailored solutions to unique challenges, fostering a more responsive and inclusive school system that meets the diverse needs of all students in Anglophone North School District.
